Yesterday made it really hit me that I'm leaving the state Thursday. Which is so crazy close!!
Allyn and I went to Greenville so we could hang out a little bit and I could get some last minute supplies, like stockpiles of deodorant and makeup. After driving around aimlessly a bit, we went over to Delaney's in Spartanburg.
This bar was where the majority of our work was done, where we went to find peace, and where we went to have fun. It was so sad realizing that, after 2.5 years of going there, we wouldn't be going back anytime soon.
Of course, I trust that Allyn will hold down the fort while I'm gone. :)
Then we returned to the house so he could "shower" before we went to "Cindy and Joey's" to have a drink. All of which was merely a ruse. When I showed up at the house, there were a bunch of cars outside and my dear Glendale friends were waiting outside! Sonja, Joe Dean, Cindy, Joey, and Ashley were all there to greet me. And then Allyn said "How did your mom get here? How did MY mom get here?!" Yeah, Mama Bunch, Mama Steele, Mama Coburn, Nat, Elizabeth, Ron, Lani, Carroll, their kids, Uncle Charlie, Aunt Susan, and maybe some other folks were all inside!! It was so wonderful. And Allyn had also gotten a ton of home videos from my mom and put them onto DVDs for me, as I had tearily told him weeks ago I wanted to do. SO SWEET. They were playing the movies of me, my mom, and my dad when I was a baby on a screen and had all my favorite starches there.
It was the most wonderful thing anyone has ever put together for me. I was touched and am deeply appreciative of all the love I have in my life. I'm quite a lucky girl.
